1. About Essay Lab

Essay Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI-powered personal statement review service operated at essaylab.ai. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

Essay Lab provides automated, AI-generated feedback on personal statements submitted by users. Our service is intended as a writing aid and educational tool. It does not guarantee admission to any university, college, or programme, and the feedback should not be treated as professional advice.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with or without notice.

3. Account registration

Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service; if you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent.

4. The service is free

Essay Lab reviews are free. We do not sell credits, packages or subscriptions, we take no payment through this site, and we never ask you for card details. A free account is required, and you can run one review every 48 hours so the service stays available to everyone.

Our one-to-one counsellor service is separate and is paid for. Any fee is agreed with you directly before work begins; nothing is ever charged automatically. See our Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the service
• Use the service to generate content intended to deceive admissions officers
• Share account credentials or resell access to the service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the personal statement content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Essay Lab a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content for the sole purpose of providing the service. We do not train any model of our own on your essays. Producing your report requires sending the text to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy, who process it under their own terms.

All other content on essaylab.ai — including software, design, branding, and written materials — is owned by Essay Lab and may not be reproduced without permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that feedback will be error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular application. Use of the service is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Essay Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of opportunity, or failure to gain admission to any institution.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will note the date of the most recent update above.
